Researching your family history?
We only keep recent registers (baptism, marriage and burial) in church. For older records, you should contact the Staffordshire Record Office. They hold records at their Stafford office from the parish for the following periods.
- Baptisms from 1751-2003
- Marriages from 1849-1997
- Burials from 1751-1996
The churchyard (some distance from the church, along Graiseley Lane) is closed to new burials, and is maintained by Wolverhampton City Council. We don't have a full list of all burials there - not everything was recorded, and many graves never had headstones. Furthermore, some records were lost in the fire of 1902.
We do have a list of identified graves, prepared in 2002 by a team of volunteers from the congregation. If you're looking for a grave, try this first! It's available as an Excel spreadsheet for ease of searching, and the plans of the churchyard should help guide you at least to the rough area.
